I first met Mrs. Miller when she guest spoke to me and other students in my fellowship. Not only did she come prepared with a well organized presentation, she spoke with eloquence and wisdom. Her words stuck with me ever since then.
Recently, I have had the opportunity to do a one on one workshop with Mrs. Miller and it was joy! In this two series workshop, I learned her goal setting acronym: SPECIAL, and received a worksheet that broke down my personal goal philosophy. Through that workshop, I found that goals can have impact on various aspects in one’s life. Therefore, to get the most out of your goals, it is necessary to be diligent when crafting them.
All in all, Mrs. Miller is organized, punctual, and motivating. It’s apparent that she cares for her clients and about the work she does.
It was truly a pleasure to have Professor Miller host a leadership segment for our Shirley Chisholm Leadership Seminar Fellows.
Her real-life experience proves that the sky is just a view, and HER story inspired our fellows to build their confidence and strive for greatness in their respective fields. Professor Millers' ability to build rapport with her audience is truly magical. I'm happy the students were able to engage with Professor Miller, and we can not wait to have her back.
I am beyond fortunate to have crossed paths with Professor Miller, during my time at Queens College. Not only is she wildly intelligent, she is extremely personable and her aura is contagious. She works to ensure the success of her students, acting not only as a professor in the classroom but a mentor outside of the classroom. With her help, many of her students have conquered their fears of Public Speaking and have a better understanding of professional etiquette. I can attribute many of my successes, at Queens College, to her motivation and support – thank you, Professor Miller!
Denise is highly motivated and committed to excellence in her teaching. She is very popular with students. It doesn't matter what task you give her, designing a new course, introducing new material, whatever it is, she does with good humor and intelligence. We are very lucky to have her teaching for us. Many students have emailed me about how much Denise has taught them. She is an exceptional instructor.
In addition to Ms Miller's general life outlook and attitude, I would like to emphasize her Leadership experience and ability. Having been in the same organization (AICI), I was a witness to observing Ms. Miller's Leadership Abilities while she served as the Treasurer of the New York Tri-State Chapter.
Ms. Miller has many positive attributes. She is emphathetic, kind, caring, and a team player. I found her to be a delightful student in my Image Program and she continues to amaze me.
Have no doubt that Denise will "get the job done.
I am so glad for the unique and special opportunity of having Denise L. Miller as my Public Speaking Professor and role model at Queens College last Spring. I was employed full time, as many of us were, but decided to take the class to enhance my skills as a public speaker. As tired as I would be sometimes after work, I always made it to her class. She made it a point to spend time with each student individually and, despite both her and our busy lives outside the course, made it fun and interesting. It was obvious she cared about her students from the way she engaged us.
At the beginning of the class, many of the students were worried about their ability to complete the final project, a presentation in front of the entire class on a subject of our choice. By working with each student, often across language barriers, she succeeded in helping us all achieve the goal of the class and at the end of the semester, every person was able to stand up and confidently present their information to the class.
The accomplishments of her students are a credit to Ms. Miller as a superior educator who cares deeply and takes pride in seeing her students succeed.
Denise has always been a warm and loving individual. It was a delight and honor to have met her in Christ Tabernacle Church.
I had the pleasure of meeting Denise when I took a Public Speaking course in 2006. Denise was the professor for that class. It is rear to meet someone with such professionalism and knowledge; I truly enjoyed listening to her presentations and was able to implement what I learned in my own presentations. Today I am a more confident speaker...thank you Denise.
